The 2025 Pickleball World Cup in Fort Lauderdale felt nothing short of magical. Fans, players, and organizers all described the week as inclusive, electric, and proof of the sport’s explosive global growth. Just two years ago, the inaugural Pickleball World Cup in Lima brought together only 14 countries. Last year it jumped to 32. This year? A massive 68 nations filled The Fort, Broward County’s 43-court pickleball palace, drawing more than 25,000 fans over six unforgettable days.
Lily Azel Carney — an American athlete who founded the Chilean Pickleball Association — called this the best World Cup yet. From world-class courts to the elevated center-court views and an unmatched pro shop, The Fort delivered a true showcase for international pickleball.
Fort CEO Brad Tuckman said the passion in the building was so overwhelming it brought him to tears. Argentina’s drum-heavy entrance, Team Bahamas’ costumes, and fans climbing steel columns just to catch a glimpse of the action showed how far global pickleball has come. At one point, organizers even cleared an entire court just to fit the roaring crowds.
On the court, Team USA dominated, sweeping gold in the seniors, juniors, and pro divisions. The Americans’ 4-0 win over Hong Kong capped a weekend that proved one thing: the Pickleball World Cup is only getting bigger, louder, and more global.
Team USA Pickleball roster includes:
Eli Bertram (Boca Raton, Fla.), Jayden Broderick (Greenville, S.C.), Ronan Camron (Fort Myers, Fla.), Ava Cavataio (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Lauren Mercado (Las Vegas, Nev.), and Bella Nelson (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) Drake Palm (La Costa, Calif.), Clayton Powell (Bend, Ore.), Brooke Revuelta (Miami, Fla.), Aidan Schenk (Portland, Ore.), Alexa Schull (Miami, Fla.), Elliott Schupp (Bentonville, Ark.) and Leah Tauber (Cardiff, Calif.).
